Four-player co-op is the headline. Until now the game has been a solo affair, which made the whole survival loop a long, quiet argument with your own inventory management. Dropping three friends into that changes the math considerably — someone can hold the torch while someone else does the boring part.

The second addition is a new winter biome. Survival games tend to treat snow as a difficulty modifier rather than a place, so the interesting question is whether this one comes with its own resources and threats or just a temperature drain stapled to the existing map. The notes don't say. What they do say is that it's a full biome, not a seasonal event.

Bundled in with both is a batch of quality-of-life fixes the playerbase has been filing since launch. That's the least glamorous third of the update and probably the one that gets the most playtime. Anyone who has spent an evening fighting a crafting menu knows the drill.

Patch notes of this size usually arrive with a trailer and a date attached to something else. Here there's just the notes, posted to Steam, and a lot of players loading in to find out whether co-op actually holds up when four people share one resource pool. That's the real test — co-op in survival games lives or dies on whether the second player is a partner or a loot goblin.

No pricing, no roadmap, no promises about what comes after the snow.
